My ultimate goal in life is to become the very best person I can be, and I think that isn't weighed in money, fame, or any of the shallow things that men use to escape their true selves. The hardest thing to do is to be objective about our own behavior, and when we are open to growth, we get all these opportunities to handle situations differently than we have in the past. We get to grow and to evolve to a higher level of love and compassion for ourselves as well as others. If we remain diligent about realizing our full potential, and life comes to an end with nothing but dust to dust, what have we lost? We certainly can't take anything with us, but we can leave this world just a little bit better off than it was before we came along. Old Brutus said, "The evil that men do lives after them. The good is often interred in thei bones." The true meaning of happiness is learning to live in the moment and to appreciate it for what it is. When we live our lives committed to the highest and best good of all, we can't fail, and if we are open and honest about realizing our potential, we will be lead to the place where we need to be. The universe just happens to work that way, and the ones who have put it to the test are aware of this law. To those who haven't tried it, well, you really can't say until you give it a try. People who learn to be loving and kind are much happier and more productive, and people who believe in God are never alone.

Stay away from drugs and alcohol? Get lots of education and eat , keep some handy tools with you or at home when you need them like a computer which I think you already have. Always be one step a head of everyone else. Buy your own supplies instead of borrowing from others so you will not be slowed down in collage or university or even high school. Follow the path you want and do not listen to anyone else that might drag you down.
Seek help when you need it and offer help when you can , be friendly with others and always try your best even if you know your going to fail which should never happen in the first place if your well prepared.

Your goal on the surface seems quite admirable but on closer analysis your goal needs a drastic bit of identifying and specifying.
Without knowing where you’re going you’ll never get to where you want.
Stay clean of all drugs (soft/hard/legal/illegal) and religious enslavements.
Mix with people who think.
Learn self-discipline – try yoga or Martial Arts o some description.
Become balanced in all facets of yourself both Physically and Mentally - a sorta Goldilocks - not to fat/not too skinny - not to happy/not too sad - not too smart/not too dumb - try to follow a middle way - and so on.
To reach any potential it needs you to make a decision in which way, direction, manner, that potential is best realised.
Will that potential be the best for you or best for society – they may not be the same – reaching ‘your potential’ will not ensure happiness or contentment.
I’m sure you’ll get plenty of hints on how to achieve nirvana.
Good luck.
Oh, and Be Flexible - never forget that “Life is what happens whilst you’re making other plans” – John Lennon.
Translated it means: Shït Happens … ask John. He was off to get some Bread and Milk.

I'm 17 and I basically have the same goal.
Simply think outside of the box, and remember... "Imagination is everything. It is the preview of coming attractions." - Einstein.
If you focus on something, it will come true. Focus on becoming a genius, and the universe will fine tune itself to your goal, because you've placed all of your energy and focus on it.
Also, even if you don't want to think about something, do it anyways, because your cognitive abilities will be enhanced.
For example, do LOTS of math in your head. Your brain will start speeding up soon. Learn how to juggle, because this increases the size of gray matter in your brain. Once you've mastered juggling, do math in your head while juggling. The extra exertion will force better thought processes into your head.
Try to figure out the taxes on an item without using a calculator. You'll eventually be able to do it with ease.

Give up on most things that taint you or leave you want more and focus on one or another way to express yourself. I'm sure that there are going to be books given to you and those are going to be good. Help out the people around you and sourand yourself with people with about the same type of mindset that you are trying to get to. The other thing that I can think of is that with focusing on a way to express yourself and staying off the net for the most part you'll probally learn a lot about yourself and in the end about other people. Because people tend to think that there is a big need to learn everything about everything. But once you really learn about one thing you tend to learn about how it all connects together.

set your focus right, be clear of the road ahead and stay motivated with your goal. Read self help books about motivation, achieving goals. Attend seminars and talks. Try to mix with positive like-minded people whoc share the same dreams.

i think it depends on what you think your full potential is. many people think it's academics and career, others think its religious, and others think its your relationships.
i think your full potential is about balancing all those different parts (career, friendships, health, leisure activities, relationships, etc.) in a way that is positive for both yourself, others, and the world around you.
it's a tough goal, but certainly an admirable one. keep your mind sharp, stay healthy, be kind to people, try hard, that kind of thing. its not about giving all you've got to one thing in your life, it's about trying to better the whole of your life and others - at least, that's the way i think your full potential is reached.
Good luck!!

I'm a living example...I'm 28 and very wealthy...What you need to do is live your life with no rules..do not follow anyone...be very open minded..travel the world...your mind will expand..have your own thoughts based on experience..not just what the crowd is saying..you will truly have felt like you have lived your life to the fullest when it is time for you to lay your head and rest..and you'll remember me telling you this...

Keep it pending and ask yourself about this when you have crossed 18.In all probability, you may like to modify it, if not delete it altogether.Utopia and reality live opposite and most humans, some where in between. This is not to discourage you but to remain in touch with mother Earth.
