how do you think the basic universe works?
are we all on one repeating timeline where the universe expands and colapses like a yoyo effect from the big bang,
are we in a multiverse where every single possibilty is played out?

how do you think the universe runs?

Does anyone really know, and does anyone believe in life after death, or that you will come back again? I'm scared of dying is anyone else scared out there? I think it's because I don't know how it's going to happen!!

there's a series of lsd vids on youtube, and they did an experiment on this one guy (sorry forgot name, it's in the video)- he took acid, while another man ("normal" state of mind) sat there and interviewed him, and the man who was tripping, said he escaped to these other realities which seemed to last for months- but on tape its just a few seconds...
so...
do you think it's the "druggie effect"
or...
is it a possible indicator that there's parallel realities?
i mean what if that was the way we were meant to see things.
take insects don't they see colors we can't perceive-
so maybe we're just blind to what's 'out there' just as we can't see molecules/atoms- they're still there.
so what if colors really did speak, and sounds really were colored?
or is it a stoner's paradise?

Especially when they get posted on Philosophy? I am not hating on those people that do ask these questions but where is the philosophy on such questions? A flower is a flower either pink or white. What colour you choose and why you choose it is a question of psychology, isn't it?

This question isn't a philosophical one either but it's just something I want to share with you fellow philosophers.

Has anyone noticed how regularily responses start with 'typical' or 'classic' as if that invariably lends weight to their dismissive reasoning?

Not discriminating, but I'd like non-religious people to help me with this one:

I'm 29 and I think I'm going through some sort of phase in my life (perhaps an early mid-life crisis). Every day I wake up, the first thing that comes to mind is death. Like waking up to the same reality that never changes. By that I mean, many times in life you go through tough times but you also get to wake up and be glad to see that the problem is already behind you. Not in this case though. What strikes me every day is the thought of "what if death is the end of all things?". I started to have some pain in my lower abdomen just trying to visualize what it means to indefinitley NEVER EVER come back, even after a billion years. I think that if all humans could perceive the infinity they would become insane, just the way I feel today. Knowing that you'll die and NEVER come back is an extremley disturbing concept. I wish I met a ghost (not sure if there are), at least I will know that death is not final

There is such a beautiful and metaphorical poetry to the bible, yet some feel uncomfortable about this. Does this rainbow of possibilities challenge their point? And does this limit our spirituality
