It seems to be getting worse but this means that more of the positive type people are getting louder and rising up to do something, simply because they can't just sit and let it all happen. And when enough of them have got the ball rolling, the media will get on board and then everyone else will too. Well, it's already happening, isn't it? That's why you've got all the solar panel talk and anti-Howard/Bush talk etc etc. The people are trying to steer themselves right, against the money-manufacturing plans of the governments.

As to why, I think it's because of what I call problematic solutions. It's all the fixers that the authorities come up with that don't actually fix the problem and create new problems to boot. Like making drugs illegal. It doesn't stop people from taking them, it turns them into criminals but at least everyone else can happily ignore why people, their own people, are turning to drugs in the first place. Yeah, we've got some real thinkers in places of high authority :P

I had a funny thought yesterday. We have electricity and fuel-run engines to do our menial tasks for us, like laundry, walking etc. We go to the gym to compensate for the lack of exercise. Someone (can't remember who) suggested we tap into the gym equipment to feed the electricty grid. Now, if that ever happened, we'd be back at square one. Funny, isn't it? :)

Lolz, Cosmo, in the past it was acceptable to roam the streets naked :P Infact, it was common to masterbate in public squares in ancient Greece. I'm going to say the world isn't getting better or worse :P just changing, or meerly a continuation of the past. With all this new technology, people tend to look towards facts and the outer world. It seems like a lot of people fail to introspect. Thank God for religion, otherwise there would probably be a LOT LESS of introspection and knowign yourself.

The world isn't that different :P People still think it's worse than ever, and the world is goign to end. But they always thought that.

At the moment, I'd have to say worse. The ice caps are melting. The tropical rain forests are being cut down or burned. Species are becoming extinct at incredible rates. People have surpassed their carring capacity on this planet. Pollution grows worse around the world. Modern medicine's vaunted advances turn out to be useless against diseases that kill millions every year. Selfishness has become an almost universal trait. The rich get richer, and the poor suffer. If there's a god, he must be thinking it's about time for another flood. Maybe that's what rising sea levels are really all about.

100 percent worse! Too much killing of our own people. Parents today do not take responsibility for their children. Growing up the worse thing that could happen would be a neighbor or a friends parent tell your parent what you had done. We were punished! I'm not talking having to watch TV alone in our room I'm talking an actual whipping, with the belt or the dreaded switch! Now I do not condone capitol punishment but I do believe in a just punishment. Now days you try to talk to another parent and you are usually verbally attacked. When Hillary Clinton said "it takes a village to raise a child" she was right. But until parents take responsibility for their children or make their children responsible for their actions, we will continue to worsen as a society...

Definately worse. Have you seen "Idiocracy" with Luke Wilson? Our world is slowly turning into that. People just seem to be getting dumber and our world is beginning to revolve around sex. Lets not forget about pollution and the growing hole in the ozone layer and the killing of animals for fur and the killing of embryos. The list goes on an on.

well it always seems like it's getting worse but if you look back in history you will find that people always had the same concerns and always thought the world was getting worse. which just proves that it is, i guess!

everyone tries to make it look like they care
no one really has a lot of common sense,
and people are to lazy, and are letting the govt. get up in their face and stealing their rights
people care more about the environment than about themselves

Worse. Everything humanity has ever valued is being tossed out little by little. I can't think of any way to say it plainer. Religion( all of them) is being banned, constant war and controversy, morality thrown out the window . . . Shall I keep going.

I despise what this world is turning into but I don't really know what to do change it.
