I believe that it is ... a matter of perception.
I see it more as a fallen world. I won't preach, but I do believe in a Supreme Being, an Almighty Creator, who created a perfect world - and free will.
How will you use your free will, to do good, or to do evil? To contribute to the coldness and cruelty, or to make a positive difference in the world by doing good?

no! that's a horrible way to look at the world.
there is kindness in every body.
sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper to find it.
now i don't know what you went through to make you think the world is cold and cruel, but there are plenty of people out there willing to listen and offer advice and try and make you feel better (i could be one!)
but just know that if you're always looking on the dark side of things- that bright spot isn't hard to see. you just gotta look closely.

It can be. You, if you are a 21st century American, live in a very kind, helpful time and place. No one is ridiculed or abused because they are crippled, or deformed, or the "village idiot". Girls who are pregnant out of marriage are not stoned to death, old people are not left on ice floes to die nor are deformed infants. If you believe that there IS a God then He/She must be strong and clever enough to have a plan for the "Creation". If you do not believe that there is a God then just rest assured that at least for what will probably be your natural lifetime there will be resources and human good will enough for you to have contentment and sufficient comfort for it to be an decent trip... and take a tip from the Buddhists and Jesus...don't try to figure it out too much...your brain will jump the track...

I'd say.......no.
Yes, there are a**holes, lunatics, and total wastes of flesh, but there are many giving, warm, loving people out there.
Like me for example :)
