Hi,
You've got some great answers here. I think I have to say too that my inner compass varies depending on my goals, needs, wishes, hopes at the time.
To go in the same direction constantly might grow a bit boring and make me a little narrow-minded. Sometimes it's good to take a different path and expand our horizons.
Sometimes I head East to find inspiration, vision and clarity. Sometimes the South beckons and this road takes me to receive and give out affection, love and support from others. The West is where I live and where I am at my happiest: a place of withdrawal, seclusion and introspection. A place where I can try to reach my soul. And sometimes I set off North to learn more of life's experiences and to gain insight and wisdom that I can share with others.

To my heart's desire. I always know what I want, would like and dream to be. The rest of the world may confuse the socks off-a-me, but I never forget my dreams.
The thing about a compass (inner or not) is that it indicates a direction. It does not drive or deny. The choice to follow your compass is still your own.
I am following my compass even though I find I have to circumnavigate regular obstacles.

I think my inner compass is broken these days...Feeling a little lost. My sense of direction isn't the best. I seem to be more adept at helping others than finding my own way...

My inner compass seems broken. The needle points at any and every direction leading me to go in circles. Know any ways to mend it??? I thought you ask to help...

I would desire to assert "domicile". it is the place my coronary heart lies, and while i'm drained, wiped out or purely won't be in a position to take yet another step, it cries for domicile - the place there is peace, unity and love.

In the words of Hunter S Thompson:
"Everything goes according ot the whims of the great magnet."
so i guess mine points to the great magnet, wherever that may lead me.

I'm not sure, but I know my husband's always points north - he has, as Tim (the tool man) Taylor puts it, "iron boogars".
