I'm talking about extraneous things--a pretty skirt, a scoop of ice cream. Or even an expensive college education. It seems so unfair to say, "my happiness is more important than your life."

But the implications of accepting that you shouldn't spend money on yourself are tricky. Does that mean that the purpose of life is to help others? That buying anything that isn't completely necessary for life is morally wrong? Where do you draw the line? And why?

what if it were an older kid say a teenager.

and second for some this is true, does not knowing what the child will grow up to be bother you?

i have said to my friend that i think y!ans contains nothing but pointless discussion but i spent all day yesterday and today on it,
i felt like i was achieving something by using it but as soon as i leave it i come back to a more realistic view.

am i just caught in a haze of deception brought on by an addiction to y!ans and if so do you think that y!ans is dangerous to the mind?

I'm not an intense user of y!ans but i do enjoy it in my spare time,
the only section i really use is the Philosophy section sometimes i have a quick peek at the maths and physics section,
i know this is not the most appropriate question to ask here but we have all asked much worse,

i was wondering who the majority of the philosophy section users are and would like it if you would say your age what country your from and a brief bit about (like wt you work/study at), i am not asking just to get answers there is not benefit from that i am just curious.

I am not doing this or that, because this and that are subjective concepts of my mind. I am not doing nothing, because my body is existing. Although I am doing something, I am not creating that something out of nothing, so I am not entirely doing something (if I was walking, I am not creating the places where I walk). But I am doing, because I know that I am doing. So if I am doing, therefore, I know that I am.
