free will or is everything that happens to us and what we do part of destiny (are we pre-destined to do what we do?). please explain why. if you believe that we have free will, can you tell me some arguments for destiny? i need both but mostly for destiny. thank you!!!!!

humanity has taken it upon itself to anthropomorohize this thing we call God. The image we are most familiar with is that of the Judeo-Christian religious mythologies. This image of God is father, male, loving, white, jealous, son, friend, Lord, warrior, etc. Is this some kind of vanity on the part of humanity, to imagine the divine as just like us? Is it our inability to imagine something other? Is there truth in these images of the Divine??????

It seems that there can not be an absolute truth in religion and belief. There cannot be an absolute truth because so many people claim that their religion is the right religion. Some claim that they have heard or felt God but it is not the same for everyone, so I would have to say that religious beliefs have to be subjective

Have you ever thought that this life might be just as futile and useless as it seems and that they toil and effort we put into it may as well be replaced by days constant sloth and lethargy. Futher having contemplated that, has anyone ever really decided to say to hell with it all and start over in a small town or maybe a commune someplace under the name Robert Montgomery Knight Jr? What underlying fear to you have that you base decisions on? Is it a fear of change, of dying, of being alone, of being wrong, of not providing for your kids?
I think the thing I fear the most is being a failure. I worry about the legacy I leave for my childern and how I will be remembered. But what is your fear and do you believe your fear is a rational one?
