Well, let's see...I can come up with a few right off the top of my head-

a) 42

Yup. Cliche and geeky, but a meaning none the less.

b) Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Let's face it- eventually everything dies, and after a few thousand years, most memory of that person is lost. In a few million years, our world will probably be dust. So perhaps, the question is, what is the meaning of death?

c) What I personally believe- to know God. Everything else just seems so insignificant in comparison.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

Everyone have its own concept about meaning of life. So the meaning of life is based from life and personal experience.

Don't try to find bigger meanings...just be happy with every day life and you Willl see it in other perspective.

Be present in every single situation and don't worry what tomorrow brings....that's my meaning of my life.

I'm in the middle of no where but I do have hope that tomorrow will be different.
so what I'm doing today...nothing just sitting in a coffee bar and talk with my friend how did I spend yesterday...and what I'm going to do tomorrow.

In the mean while everyday I do small things that change my life every day without noticing.

Smile to others talk with love...and you will receive the most great feling ever love...

Good luck my yahoo friend!

The meaning of life is different for each person. For some people it may mean being a parent, for others career driven, and yet for some perhaps it is seeing the world. Each individual has there own meaning of life is to them.

This may sound existentialist, but the meaning of life is what you believe it is. Religion strives to answer this question for us. Some people think that there is something more than is provided by religion. Life is all in how you live it, not what comes about because of it.

For me, the meaning of life follows the Christian path, but I do not think that everyone needs to follow it. I respect all religions and beliefs. Everyone is entitled to think what they will about the meaning of life and how it should be carried out.

The meaning of life is what you make it.

I think life has no real meaning, only a purpose. I think the purpose is to learn as much as you can in the time you have.

To quote Aerosmith:

"Life's a journey, not a destination".

It's all about now and yesterday and tomorrow. It's the little things. Baby smiles and rainshowers. It's good friends, family, and food. It's about living.

look up "life" in the dictionary, it should be somewhere between "learn" and "love". when your done with that there should be a few blank pages in the back for making notes: read the notes of the people who researched before you; write your own notes, just make sure that you leave everything clean and convenient for the people who are to visit after you.
