My best friend. We met in middle school when we both wanted to sit in the same chair in choir, and we have been best friends ever since. We live a thousand miles apart but we talk all the time and visit several times a year.
Neither of us are married and we often joke that if we get married, our husbands will have to be ok with us having sleep-overs and road trips!

I don't believe that each person has only one soul mate- for any one given person, there is certainly more than one other person in the world who they could have a happy partnership with (except people who are too immature/ violent/ substance-abusive/ etc. to have a successful relationship with anyone at all). However, some of each person's possible mates are better matches for them than others, and I suppose there might be just one that really is better than the others, even if only by a small margin. That, I suppose, is what we would call a soul mate.
If I have one, my boyfriend is it- I'm one of the lucky ones who's found mine.

I don't think there is any such thing as a soul mate. I think we are more compatible with some people than we are others. Just b/c we share common ground with someone,doesn't mean they are meant to be with us for all eternity.

There is no such thing.
We all have moments with other people that feel like they are our soul mates...perhaps they are for a brief moment, but, in the long run we are our only real and true connection to ourselves.
