I agree with Ronin...Scientology and Hubbard are no better than David Karesch from Waco, Texas.

Psychiatry is definitely a science focusing on probing/studying the mind of those in trouble as well as how we live normally with practical mental health. Thus, this field of study is related to psychology, mental therapy, neuroscience, etc. in which we can study in any medical faculty in universities.

Psychology is mostly nonsense. There are some areas of psychology that are legitimate, but those seem borderline nonsensical because psychology and neurology are in their infancy- we know very little about the brain and how it operates. I once read a quote that said "Our knowledge of how the brain works is so early in its development that we know about as much about the brain as we knew about the heart before we realized that it pumped blood". A time will probably come when we know a lot about the brain and how it works, but that is a long way off.

psychiatry is a pseudoscience. phenomenology is the proper method for analyzing humans at the level psychiatry ignores. the rest of what psychiatry does can be replaced by neurologists. psychiatry purports to cover over the phenomenological explanation by appeal to a neurology that is out of its element. in short, it applies the scientific method to a domain for which a better method is appropriate to understanding the phenomena and by doing so distorts the phenomena at the phenomenological level. so it's a pseudoscience.

Psychiatry is a specialized field of medicine dealing with problems associated with the mind by a medical practitioner proficient in this field .So therefore it is a medical practice.

I don't know what to say about that. Prozak does do weird things to you and they are called "Happy Pills." (Oops) And yes, everybody I know who is "Depressed" says they feel numb(Zombie) I used to take stuff like that, but I couldn't get used to them. (Sex takes twice the time and then most of the time, I didn't even want it.) Also, I cleaned a lot for some strange reason. Now, hell, I feel more at ease. Sure there's the Anxiety, but I say "Yeah, sure Kid. What cha' scared of? Other People?" Hey. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
