Do you think/ agree with the speaker in the poem that inward nature can be revealed by outward appearances?

I think the movie Silence of the Lambs sums it up best.
I look at a person's shoes, if they are cheap or worn, they really don't think much of themselves.
I know it sounds absurd. But there is some truth to it.
Someone who is neat and tidy but has style says a lot to me about their self worth.
Not if they have buck teeth or a huge butt but what they do with their looks. Hope I am making sense.

I would actually go a step further and say that inward nature is ALWAYS revealed by outward appearances.
The periphery of my life is a reflection of my inner life.

No. Who would have thought that the sap of a willow tree would be a remedy for pain and headache? There is nothing in its apprearance to indicate it. Many other things in nature are likewise imbued with qualities that are not revealed by their appearance.

That is what they always say. I don't know if I should believe in it. But in so far as my experiences count, it does make sense. The how unpleasant your physicalities are, your attitude goes with it.
