i heard it many times but dunno for sure whats the meaning behind these words..

I'm Not Sure But when i read that, i got the sort of idea that Its kindof like personification.
Nicotine is addictive,
It Might Be Like An expression to say a girl is addictive like nicotine.
Just a thought.

I heard these expressions when I was a kid and was told the expression was also used for alcohol. Here are two explanations I was given:

#1: When cigarettes became the chic thing for men to do, the notion was that when a man was dragging on the cigarette he would feel such a euphoric sensation and happy feeling as if he were kissing a girl. Much in the same way cigarette advertisements this day and age supposedly makes one feel if they purchased the cigarettes (giving a sexual conotation).

#2: Means that the person smoking or drinking is so enthralled with the act of smoking and drinking that they will do what ever it takes to have that cigarette or drink.

Meaning that cigarettes and/or alcohol are the mistress in the person's life and spouse and family take second precedence.

I have never heard this expression, but one of the reasons why teenage girls start to smoke is that they believe (wrongly) that nicotine is an appetite repressant, and if they `consume` enough nicotine it will stop them feeling hungry. In consequence they hope to loose weight.In fact they would need a great deal of nicotine to do that, and in the meantime the substance is coating their lungs, and killing them. Perhaps this is the connection to the expression.

Nicotine is a feminine sounding name. It is a pun on the habit of blacks naming their female offspring with some weird sounding names and spellings.
