I have Earl Grey, builders, Rooibosh, green tea, coffee and some expensive chocolate from Venice.

I also have battenburg cake and some jaffa cakes.

All are welcome.

And I have my reasons for putting this is Philosophy. Would anyone like to hazard a guess as to why?

Do please provide sufficient logic for your answer. Also, do please think overall and not merely the sex aspect of it.

Do vices make life more bearable or do they make life worse?
Are vices akin to having addictions?

My vices are smoking, junk food esp. chocolate and the internet.

I not addicted to anything. It's not that I am not interested in anything, Iam interested in Chess, Philosophy, Astronomy, Literature, Psychology and everything under the universe, but still I cannot sustain the same interest level after some time. Am I alone or is there someone who feels the same as me. Even worldly things like Sex, money, smoking, boozing lose their charm after sometime. Am I sounding too philosophical or Am I the Ultimate GOD people are debating all over. Ready for all your bouquets and brickbats.
Note: Iam not even getting addicted to Yahoo answers. I think I may not visit after some more days

What is the point of emotion according to Darwin's Theory of Evolution? If everything is just a matter of surviving and procreating, what purpose does emotion serve? It would seem to me that having a weakness such as sadness or love (assuming you loved something that died would make you weak) would make you inferior to something that was more of a machine that did not react to good or bad.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Its the old "If a terrorist has a bomb in New York City is it ok to torture him to find out where it is?"

If so...How few people have to be in danger to torture someone? (Or kill someone) 2? 3? And if not...How many people have to be killed to make the torture/killing ok? You may say no to 2 or 3 or a thousand...But what about a million? A billion? 5 billion? At some point you have to say that its ok to torture/kill the person. But if you say that you are placing a limit. What if its one less person than that limit? 2 less? 100 less? Im sure you see my point. This just causes a lot of problems.

Thoughts?

Engaged in yoga, cast off attachment and perform actions, O Arjuna, remaining even-minded in success or failure; this equanimity is called Yoga.

So, Arjuna, adopting Yoga and giving up attachment to the fruit of action, you should perform actions with diligence. Don't be elated too much, if you are lucky to finish the work undertaken; but do not become frustrated if, for some reason, you are not able to see it through. If the work is finished, it has achieved its purpose; but even if it remains incomplete, it is edifying . Whatever action you undertake, - you should dedicate it to God. Then you should rest assured that it is rendered perfect. This equanimity of the mind in regard to good and bad deeds is praised as the yogic state by eminent men.

Inferior by far is mere work to this yoga of discernment. Take refuge in right-mindedness. Wretched are those who seek reward.
