Because their intelligence is not the right kind of intelligence. It is not wisdom.

Let us not club all such people together. The world has benefitted from the `greats` in each such category. Abraham Lincoln stood T a...l...llll. Even today the likes of Bill Gates , warren Buffet stand like collassus. daring journalists are responsible for some of the major exposures of many a clandestine activities.

But a large number of people are falling prey to cheap publicity and quick money. For these some thinh or the other is an addiction. They stopped growing beyond that.

For the politician it is the seat that hold the power . They will do anything to retain that.. Like the child who clings to her toy.

For the businesman it is the lure of the big money in small time , a sort of shortcut Like the child who refuses to share.

For the journalist it is the lure of the name and fame. Like the child who wants to come first at the cost of the others.

In each of them there is something else driving them other than 'concern for my fellow man'

The desire to be in power for most politicians (all that I've heard of so far but let's keep an open mind) drives out the desire to think intelligently.

In businessmen it's the desire for success or money.

And in journalists it's the desire to get their story read (at a guess) that means they'll do anything to get that story.

But there is another side to it. A friend of mine is a business man and he has had to learn to fight other business men in the world using their tools. As a consequence he has become harder in order to survive. He's actually still a nice chap but his manner has changed somewhat.

Ones politics is usually one sided, so it cant be intelligent, only
a " intelligent choice" but who's to say which is.
Let's take for example, you're a football fan, and your team is considered by many a horrible team, are you less intelligent?
So we "ALL" act like little Children from time to time.

All I can tell you is that there was this lovely line from a book I once read. "It was a time when great men could dream great dreams, and achieve them. Sadly, it was also a time when small men could dream small dreams ... and achieve them, too."

The book had, at its theme, assassination, civil war and the collapse of a nation that had lasted a thousand years.

We are clearly living amid this kind of time. But there are no great men. Just the small, petty ones. The smallest and pettiest this world has seen in three centuries.

A bit presumptuous using intelligent and politicians in the same sentence - they can't...

because they are ego driven...to be a balanced person...you have to be balanced in all areas and if you depend overly on your intelligence this creates an imbalance in another part of your personality...so they act like horrid children...

The "intelligent people" are not really intelligent, they are shallow and closed minded.
