someone mentioned lift doors (:-))... they close because they have no fuzzy logic sensor as he said. But me stopping the lift from closing is like an organic sensor kicking in. It's built in. The door ain't gonna hurt me and it means either me or someone else catches the lift. So i might as well stop it and use the lifts inability to ignore it's programming. And still some don't appreciate it. Or is it just they can't deal with the fact their brains are stuck in one or the other mode?

This question applies to anyone with knowledge of a religion that has a heaven in its belief. I'll use Catholicism as an example. Since heaven is a paradise, shouldn't I wanna end my life on Earth as quickly as possible through some sort of "legitimate" means?

Perhaps enlisting in the military out of high school, serve in Iraq with distinction and honor, confess my sins, and die in combat? Thats not suicide...and I would have a clean slate...

From a religious perspective, heaven seems like the most ideal place to be, since life on Earth is so imperfect, and for many, downright miserable.

**Some serious answers please! I didn't intend the morbid Iraq example to have a poltical connotation. It was the only occupation I could think of where the mortality rate would be high for someone young.

It seems as though Satan is not all that bad. I mean it's not all about sex, evil, kill and stuff. It's somewhat logical if you really read it without bias. It says that you should do what you like and not be ashamed of your sexual needs. He also said that to hurt others ONLY when others have hurt you.

What are your thoughts? Am I right, or am I going about this all wrong? Don't preach, or give hate message. I'm only a seeker of truth?

Or do anything, for that matter? I'm finding it hard to to summon up the motivation to do even the most mundane tasks. Please, if anyone can give me a reason - any reason but religion, that is - I'd greatly appreciate it.

I ran towards an exit door, the escape you showed me. You led me to a path I'd never want to leave. You taught me to break out of my own cage and see the world through your eyes. Hero, your world struck me speechless. Rain engulfed me, drop by drop, on my skin. Its night and the lights are shining brightly like the glittering stars above me. Cars driving by - tires on the wet road - numb in my ears. The breeze leaves me breathless. I feel like dancing, with faint music in the distance. My nose and cheeks red by the chill. Yet I have no jacket on.

If only I could walk on and on, smiling to myself. But I've got a destination to reach. I can sense your presence with me, walking along, carrying my burdens. Ready to catch me in your steady hands if I fall. I stop and grasp the freedom, open my mouth and let the fain fall in. The taste I longed for, lifting my soul and let it all go as I opened my fist and spread out my arms. Take me away. I close my eyes.

I would like to hear different points of view, like when you wake up, first of all, how old are you?...what is your situation?...etc. Please think before you answer. I am asking this because I always seem to think that if I woke up and my life was a dream, that I would be in the neighborhood of 8 yrs. old or so. Just wondering what ya'll thought about it.

The teacher does not call his name in rollcall. He comes and goes whenever and wherever he pleases and he does what he wants, and nobody says anything against him. What is the SANSKRIT term to describe "the person without a name?"

All right, this is really pretty funny, but I'm actually not making this up and I would like to have some imput on it.
I have been dating my girlfriend for a month now and her father is making us break up because I did some inappropriate things with her but more because he thinks we had sex.
To clear some things up, she is a virgin and yes, I have had sex before. But that was when I was young and immature. I am a better person now and I would not hurt her.
I fully intend on having a "talk" with her father over this, cause I'll be damned if I lose her over something stupid like this. I only want to tell him that I have not slept with his daughter and that I am insulted that he would think that, and that I don't intend on breaking up with her cause I really do love her.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why her father is doing this. He worries about his daughter. I respect him for that, but I do not intend on giving up my girl.
Please ask if you want more info and I'll post it.

They ask me where i am. I am in the doorway. So no, i am not in room A, i am not in room B, i am in the flippin doorway! Some people have trouble with the concept that to me i could never be in either room whilst i am really standing in the doorway. At worst they tell me it's a mental condition. I'll give them mental! What about you? Do you ever stand in the doorway and the world wants you to believe that you are standing in one of the rooms?

This is not a question about how we could die at any time without warning ...

What I'm asking is: how do we know we haven't lived our whole life through already and are now reliving our life in the so called flashback?

Apparently, just before we die, we experience our whole life again in a flashback. I think it's possible that this flashback is measured in time without the individual's experience, but for the individual him/herself it is relived, moment for moment, in real time. If this is so, then how can we be sure that what we are experiencing right now is real, first time around experience as opposed to the flashback which is just as real?

And please, no stupid answers: this is a serious philosophical question
