since all humans cannot judge whether a soul is gained or lost, the question is moot. It is like trying to measure the value of a material thing against the value of an immaterial thing.

The gain or loss of one's soul is only to be perceived by the owner of the soul, everyone else's opinion is irrelevant.
In the case where someone doesn't recognize the existance of their own soul, how can they perceive to have lost something they never had?

If by gaining even part of the world I could do some good for others with it, I would not mind losing my soul. You know of the Nobel prize?

What is a soul according to Christianity?
It is the body + breath / spirit of God right?
If I die, the body decays, spirit returns to God anyways.
Nobel prize remains unless the world ends and when it does, nothing matters.

This question was a serious life experience to a person who did it and shared his experience.
It seems, Alexander the Great , who created record by winning many countries, waging war for long long time, had a dying wish that his two bare hands be put out of coffin, so that people can see that he takes nothing with him, at the end !
