no point. we have to die one day. everything will be forgotten. just die today itself. with something soooooooo meaningless. so irritating. have to go on working when it'll be of no use after the ultimate truth, death; therefore the best way: Die :((((((((((((((((((((

The point of doing anything in life is being able to die with yourself... just like people say you should always be able to live with yourself... same thing. If you don't do anything in life but you think it's ok, that you can lie in your death bed and have no regrets, go for it! If you feel like you must do something to make your life worthy, then DO it! The worth of that is that you'll die, hopefully, with either little or no regret -- that's the best thing I think any of us can ask from life. The worth of worth is priceless... you need to feel worthy of yourself, but I think really that's the only person you need to seek that from.

So really I suppose, there is no point in anything, unless you feel there is. All subjective :)

Very good question. The worth of worth is satisfaction. The point of satisfaction is that it's satisfying. Concepts about worth are worthless, like talking about a banana split as a substitute for eating one.

Each human being sets his own value on doing any THING. The point of doing "ANYTHING" is the value returned to the person doing it.

For instance, the Value of Fly Fishing for one person may be X but for another it is Y.

For me, doing "anything" is given value base upon the following:
Does it make me laugh? A good life is measured by how much we laugh.
Does it make me think? A happy mind is one that is challenged.
Does it make me proud? A happy psyche is one of confidence.
Does it make me feel good? A happy life is lived by a happy body.

Therefore, for instance, watching a good stand-up comedian show makes me laugh. I feel good when I laugh. Laughing makes me happy. It was worth going to the show. What's the worth of worth? (no, it's not the price of the tickets). Picture "Worth" being jewels and jems, silver, gold. And Your Life is a treasure chest. The "worth of worth" is however full you'd like your treasure chest to be.

I've asked myself those philosophical questions, became a Christian, realised that it wasn't right and deconverted, now I'm an atheist. Now I know that there doesn't need to be a reason to enjoy the ride (life). Why should there be? Life is what it is, I've learned to accept it and I am trying to do the best with the cards that I've been given. What else can you and I do?

what seems silly to you may be profound to another person. You may do something that seems to insignificant to you and that action, deed or word may change the path of another. We are all connected and all have a role to play in this world. Not everything we do is going to be front page news, but to someone somewhere it is important.

Don't over do accounting of life, you might end up being too cheap to breath. Live life by the moment as it is offered sometimes and when you do, enjoy it. That's the worth of it.

"Life has no meaning the moment you loose the illusion of being eternal." -Sartre

"A lost battle is a battle one thinks one has lost." -Sartre

"No finite point has meaning without an infinite reference point." -Sartre

Life is not about me. It's about all the reference points of which I am one. It's like being you, but at a company of others. The worth of you is a tiny worth of the whole thing.

we do things so as not to get bored.
if you were left in a meadow with nothing to do, only the blue sky above you and the green grass under and around you for miles and miles away, you would still sit and maybe pluck the grass or play with the soil, or sing to yourself, or think or sleep. if you do not do anyhting, that means you are dead. we do things to live and to continue living. it's a sign of life.

Well, you would get bored wouldn't you? Anyway, the world just wouldn't work if people didn't do anything. The population would die out, all the hard work we have put into this world will go to waste. Simple.

So you don't end up lazy and living with your parents at 40, you have to do something with your life. Nobody will want to marry you if you old, jobless and still live with parents.
