I read it when I was a little girl so it was around 1994-1999 and I was like 6 or 8 or something. Anyway, it was about this little boy (but maybe he wasn't a boy. maybe he was like a animal. maybe a hippo. for some reason a hippo stands out)

these are the things i remember

he eats an apple
buries the apple,
the apple grows into an apple tree
an apple hits him on the head,
he befriends the apple
he sits under the tree threw the season (i remember snow but i also remember that in another pic it was sunny)

oh and it was a picture book

has anyone read/ heard of it?

please help!

I say it is not possible to compare them, as they are very different books, carrying different messages.

I know that there are things that match

but still...

Can I have your opinion please?

Yes I do have virgin lips and I just wanted to know how it's done. The bit from Sarah Michelle Gellar's "Cruel Intentions" didn't help. Some explain in detail,

Whenever I read, whether it be a novel or a newspaper article or whatever, I naturally use my own voice (in my head) for each character/speaker. I was just wondering what other people did. Do you hear a different voice for each character or do you just hear your own voice?

I'm looking for the title of a short story I would like to re-read. I am 99% positive it was by Rudyard Kipling. Setting included slums of India where eventually no one will buy the magic item (lamp?) for any price. The male protagonist acquires the item for a large sum of pounds because he believes it will make his wife happy and well again. All appears well, until it turns against them somehow. Each time it changes hands it must be sold for progressively lower and lower sums. The units used are pounds, shilling, pence, etc. Whoever is left with it is ruined.

Thank you to the Yahoo Answers community. I'll keep my fingers crossed that someone knows this one.

Favorite book? What do you like most about his books? Do you read the non-Dirk Pitt books because I kind of have a personal ban on them. He may not be loyal to Dirk Pitt but I am.

I've decided to rad the "Mists of Avalon" series of books by Marion Zimmer Bradley. What order were they published in? Is this the same order they were meant to be read in, was there a prequel to the series published last that would be good to read first?

thanks.

I recently just wrote something, trying to find my voice in writing. Sadly, it is not the genre I want to write, but it is something that I just came up with and I want to know how I can improve my writing and what you suggest? I really want to write better!

(Will continue with story in the following posts.)

ok, for my last novel, when the land has defeated the final villain, what would be a better ending for kids/teenagers? The leader has found another griffin (there were rumors the species had gone extinct) and they have a newborn griffin who becomes the future king. Or, sometimes people like it when a creature dies so should the leader die and leave his new son as king, or should it be a happy ending? If he dies he's go up to a heaven world where you live your second life. What's yuor thoughts about it, thx for ur opinions :)

It's called "Facade" and it's about a young woman who finds her calling in art and moves to New York. She has one crazy professor who insists that art is not the creation of beauty but the creation of an honest world. She soon finds herself trapped in this world, taken for crazy, unable to stop painting the way the world truly is. She cannot extract herself from her own mind, where truth reigns free about the massive cover appearences place over quality and freedom of thought, and society's constant need to write off what is different. Will she end up in insanity or sanity, normalcy or eccentricity? Is there really that much of a difference? This is just a slight prologue and chapter one, but please tell me what you think and if you'd continue reading.

I'm a pre-teen and I'm pretty good at writing for my age, but I really want to get better. How do I get better at writing fast and how do I learn to make my characters deeper. I think it will be easier to write once I learn how to create good characters that have more to them than a general personality and appearance.

I recently came accross a paper I wrote for an english class about my first date with my long time boyfriend. I thought I'd be a great christmas present except I can't think of a title for it. I don't like the current title of the paper and 'Our First Date' or 'A Love Story' seem a little cliche. Anyone have a better idea for a title?? Thanks!!
