Hand writing works best for me.
I was told once that if you hand write and you "x out" thoughts you can still see them. If you type and delete...those thoughts are gone forever.

I use both. I feel more connected with the page when I hand write, and it feels more flowing; also it means I can write anywhere, and I quite like to write in bed. I would certainly prefer to write poetry by hand, it just feels more organic.
On the other hand, I am a very fast typist, and it is much quicker to put words straight on to the screen and not to have to laboriously copy them from handwriting at a later date. The disadvantage is having to sit at my computer desk an no choice to type anywhere else.

Both Make
an organizer hand written
Do most of the book on the computer that way you can go back and change it with out putting holes in the paper and nobody will spill anything on it and ruin it. Also typing is neater

Some people like writing longhand and then typing it later; I prefer typing. My handwriting is atrocious, for one thing, and I find it considerably easier to edit a typed document than a handwritten manuscript.
It really just depends on your preference.

I kind of do both. I will make handwritten notes in a notebook about writing ideas -- and then type them into the computer to take the next steps.

I can't type worth anything (thank god for spell check) so I like to sit outside on nice days and write on a yellow legal pad. My terrific wife then transcribes my chicken scratches into text.
After it's on the hard drive I sit and edit the manuscript.

I cannot type as fast as I think, so I hand write all my books first, then type them. Maybe those handwritten copies will be worth something someday. :)

Typing b/c its faster and you could check your work over and over without erasing it and writing in crowded lines. + there's spell check, if you have it on the computer.
