I reread it after 30 years out of high school. I loved all of it.

Now that time has passed I can step back and actually say that over all I liked it but that I agree with your statement... Bad begining - middle/end great.
My problem with is is that I had to move a lot for a few years as a child so I was forced to read it 4 times and watch the movie more times then I can count... By the 3rd reading I HATED IT just because I could practically quote it verbatim!!

I have been out of high school for over 30 years and never read the book. My daughter read it in high school, liked it and brought the book home and I ended up reading it. I think it is a wonderful book and I enjoyed it very much. Probably one of the better books that I have read.

I totally agree. I thought it was a very interesting book, once I got past the first couple chapters. It really opened up my eyes to the way things were back in that time.

i think it was the most boring book i have ever read in my life. i usually read a minimum of 60 pgs a day, and it took me over two weeks to reach the last chapter and i never finished it. every time i tried to read it, the words would just fade away and i forget everything i just read. plus, i didn't get wat was happening half the time and the story was so dull. sry for all u to kill a mockingbird fans, but i just had to be fatally honest. sry...

I liked the book...like you said the beginning wasn't the greatest but beyond that I liked it....although I really would've liked less about the court case and such

i admit it's a good book, but totally not the kind of book i read. definitely a must-read though (it pretty much is since most high schools make it mandatory to read).

It is a literary classic. The message it delivers is one of acceptance, adaptation, sensitive active listening, and the value of not compromising ones self respect.
