Mine is The Goose-Girl by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. Right now I am reading The Goose-Girl novel by Shannon Hale and I love it. I loved that fairy-tale since I was two, when I first heard it. What's your favorite fairy-tale or nursery-rhyme?

The songs have to represent the main themes, moods, relationships, or events in the story in some way. Please include the title of the song and the name of the artist. URLs to lyrics of songs are appreciated. :]

feel free to critiqe it to!

Only he who lies in darkness
ever starts the fire
While those who wait in light
stop to quell the pyre
But those who stand in twilight
neither burn nor water down
and either perish in the fire
or fizzle up and drown
Caus' men of gray in shades of black
are the heros of the end
And only angles never men
have beginings here to send

thanks!

I mean the 11-15 year old bracket. I have several cousins and they are completely addicted to it. I also have been doing student teaching with the same age groups and their all addicted. How did this happen? Have you noticed? What do you think?

Because I hate having to read like a 30 page intro before starting a book. I think it is a waste of time. I want to know your opinion.

I hear his name everywhere, and even my mother is a big fan - even though I have a strong suspicion that her IQ is higher than his... - but I've read one book of his, and in all fairness, the only thing I liked is the fact that his work drew attention to the TOPIC!

As far as I'm concerned, his writing is very basic and very poor (for a language teacher), there was no spirit in the story, he didn't do enough research, and then he dares to write it down and publish it. The end was very predictable, and I'm sure knowledge of the topic as well as knowledge of pshychology of the individuals lacked.

Reading the one book put me off of reading any of his others.

So WHY is he so bleeding popular?!

If you choose different names for the real characters of the story, is it still labeled as non-fiction? Or is it 'based on a true story?'

*****please dont copy+paste.******* i wrote this poem:

Spread your wings and fly,
Fly into the deep blue sky,
Fly with a smile on your face
and a new journey in your eyes.

Take this chance,
for it is one of the few,
to spread the beautiful wings,
that God gave you.

I am looking for a good book that is realistic fiction or nonfiction, but not historical. I really like books that take place in cities, like NYC, and I like a lot of genres. It doesn't have to take place in a city, but if you know of any good books that I might like, please recomend them. Also, I'm a teenager, so any book from adult-teen is ok. I've already read the catcher in the rye, too.

Im writing a story. Its a 3rd person view.

Its in the present tense.

Is there any problems with using present tense. Is past better?

For example:

As the settling mist impedes the full moon, a beautiful lady charges through the forest on a white horse, grasping a lantern forward on a long cane.

Compared to:

The mist settled on the ground, the full moon impeded from sight. A beautiful lady charged through the forest on a white horse, a lantern grasped in her hand.

PS. The past tense may not make sense in the grammar sense.

What do people think? Thanks
