I mean the 11-15 year old bracket. I have several cousins and they are completely addicted to it. I also have been doing student teaching with the same age groups and their all addicted. How did this happen? Have you noticed? What do you think?

This probably happened when just a few anime and manga shows and comics were greated in japanese. People saw or read them and probably got addicted to them. Yes, I have noticed. When I looked at youtube.com or searched on google videos I have seen that people have created loads of videos in honor to anime or manga. Even how to draw them! I think anime is the best. I too am sort of addicted to it. I find myself trying to draw them and get prause from friends. I even try to make my own, sort of...series. Its sort of weird.

Not really. Yeah, lots of kids and teenagers like it, but not all, and fewer still can actually be said to be "addicted". How did it happen? More shows are being aired on TV and more books are made available in print. The art is often appealing, and there's usually a good mix of action, adventure and humour. Basically, it's fun! What do I think of it? It's really not all that different from being interested in other tv shows, movies, cartoons, comic books or novels.
