I am so hungry, yet they brought me a talking leg of mutton,
then - a talking plum-pudding. Both introduced themselves,
and it isn't etiquette to cut any one you've been introduced to.
Alice.

So I can analysis the literary talent behind it? As an aspiring writer I need to absorb the true greats, and Tolstoy was first!

Smoething historical is preferred, and on an epic scale- but exact subject matter is unimportant, just the authors style.

Thanks!

PS Check out my fledgling 360 page to learn a tiny bit more about me if you like, and feel free to email or leave a comment! I want to hear constructive criticism of my style and meet friends.

I'm looking for the title of a book, the problem is I have not idea what the name of the author is. All I can say is that this book was published in the late 90's, that the critics were pretty good at that time (claiming it was among the 10 best books of the decade) and that, on the cover, you can see the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and, if my memories are good, a bird flying in between...

Thx For your help.

On a Field of Grass

One day on a field of grass
By the wind blowing to my heart
soothing every corner
I stare to the sky ahead

That wind I know
is from gales and gusts
Behind it I also know
is something waiting for me

With that in my mind
I turn no head
Only one gaze to the front
I smile

This path I walk on
has countless rubbles
Nevertheless I keep
my steps

My heart with a truth
to every of it
My heart with a thread
to all of it

Here I am
facing the soul of my soul
I have come home so
I smile

This is my first poem. So,what do you think of it?I appreciate any opinion.Thanx.

You know those neat little sayings that someone always manages to copy and drop on your desk? Those little axioms that seem to speak a storng truth in a short burst. Like "I am the master of my fate, the captain of my soul" What's your favorite?

This bloke I know and am extremely fond of has found his niche in life - he has started a website - its absolutely brilliant and at the moment is only visited by friends and family!

Could you please please take a look and tell me what you think of it!

good and bad comments please - I just want to know if his sites as brilliant as I think it is. Many of us who visit now think he could have a real cult following and he could even get a bit of a fan club - maybe write a book one day?

Make sure you read "recent news and updates" also look at Pet Profiles, thats brilliant and really gives you an insight! Oh and place your name on his guestbook if you think his site is good - no swearing please - his kids read it daily

Mine is sonnet 18-shall i compare thee to a summers day
(william shakespeare)

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

I am a new author at Publish America. I am getting my book published. I am almost to the point to where it will be in print soon. I was wondering if anyone has heard of my book or websites. Look me up under Tabitha Robin, and tell me what you think about my sites. http://www.tabitha-robin.com I need some info on my layouts for my book. I would like to know if I can advertise my book somehow besides on search engines. Could any one help me with book promotion ideas, bookmarks for my books, and where to get some buisness cards made for a great price. I want to promote my book as well as possible. Any Ideas?

I don't think it's anything special... but I want you're opinions on how I could better it.

The feelings swell inside,

And my head fills with haze,

On warm spring days,

When’er I talk with you,

Never telling you the things I hide,

Inside my mind,

Behind these eyes,

Things I want to tell you,

I think we’re friends, maybe more I hope,

I want to ask you sometime,

But now is not that time,

Though soon, I think you shall discover,

What I feel deep inside this cove,

Inside this mind,

And someday I shall tell you,

Just how I feel underneath this cover,

These brown eyes,

My disguise,

And then, you shall know,

How I feel, deep inside this mind
