I remenbered it when I saw the movie last week with Decaprio. I "thought " it was by Sidney Sheldon, but now I'm not sure. The very first page started out with these two guys searching the beach. If I remember correctly, one had an African name. It was an excellent book and wish I could read it again Anyone have any ideas???

I learned this in 4th grade english, and its on my mind who wrote it. we were taught it is called a no-nonsense poem......
One gay day in the middle of the night,
two dead boys came out to fight,
back to back they faced eachother,
turned around and shot one another,,
a deaf policeman heard this noise, and came and shot the two dead boys.
if you think this lie is true ,
ask the blind man he saw too.

I've been told that you have to go to certain websites that sell greeting cards if you want to sell a poem. So I did, and they all say the same thing "we have a staff of profesional poets who.....". I need to know what companies actually buy poetry. I've been told to buy this book called "poets market" or something like that. Well, to be onest with you I don't feel like spending around $25 for a book when I don't even know how much I'll make of my poems. So, if you can help me I will really apriciate it. Thank you very much.

I read in another book (The Perks of Being a Wallflower) that the book 'Naked Lunch' was written while the author was high on heroin.. but when i looked it up no one really mentioned it. That's a pretty huge detail and i assume it wouldve been mentioned if it was true.. but then again its not like i just heard that, i read it in a book. so yeah- does anyone know the truth?

'Freedom To Read' week is February 25 - March 3. I plan to reread 'Of MIce and Men', 'To Kill A Mockingbird', 'Lord of the Flies' and 'Farenheit 451'. Maybe I'll throw in a little Stephen King or Harry Potter, just for extra savour.

I was reading a book named To Kill a Mockingbird and they used that phrase. They constantly used the N word but what I want to know is what is a white ******? It's kind of funny to me but I know some of you will get all offended and stuff but don't get mad at me, it's public book. Of course I'm not racists or anything, I'm black. so please don't get offended.

My vote goes entirely to the Da Vinci code. I am a big fan of Da Vinci's work myself, but was greatly disappointed when I bought the book and finished it.

Not only was it NOT about Da Vinci, the storyline in my opinion wasn't well thought through, and more attention was paid to try to make the riddles look confusing, than to building up the characters' personalities.
Also, no offence intended, but I also believe that Dan Brown didn't have the foggiest about what exactly he was writing about. All the facts he put in it weren't really consistent, and the fictional facts he added seemed so out of place that they became too obvious.
And the plot was no surprise either.
In short, I hated it. It was basically a waste of money, but I'm sure most people disagree. I don't mind; this is just my personal opinion anyhow.

So, what is the worst book you've ever read, and why?

You can elaborate as much as you like; I love hearing ppls opinions about books ^.^
