Freedom writers book?

What is the difference between the first freedom writers book pubished around 1999 and the one just recently published in december the covers are different but the older one is more expensive. Whats the difference?

I don't think that there is any real difference. The new version is being released to promote the movie. That's why it has Hilary Swank on the cover. It's even called the "Movie Tie-In Edition." It's probably cheaper because it's being cross-promoted with the film.
