Actually, if you have a public library nearby, see if they have the reference book series "Something About the Author". Usually they have some pretty good information on authors, and even book reviews.

She has a degree in English Literature, which might not mean anything, but it does show that enjoys it enough that she got a degree in it and writes for a living.
