Daughter of Fortune.
Even though the book is set in a time when women would be expected to live only in their stereotypical roles, she writes about a smart independent thinker that discovers great truths by not being a stereotypical woman.
It makes no excuses and it describes harsh realities. The author shows great insight into true human nature.
I love Isabel Allende. If I have a daughter I want to name her Isabel.

I love Isabel Allende. I have read all of her books. The one that moved me most was "Paula," about the death of her daughter.

Como agua para chocolate its so great that book... descibes how Families used to work during Mexican Revolution... and the way Tita cooked... wow... amazing

she is really good. Once I read "La casa de los Espirutus" and I totally love that book.
