I was reading a book named To Kill a Mockingbird and they used that phrase. They constantly used the N word but what I want to know is what is a white ******? It's kind of funny to me but I know some of you will get all offended and stuff but don't get mad at me, it's public book. Of course I'm not racists or anything, I'm black. so please don't get offended.

Sarcastically, to the title question, I would answer "Chav".

But the book deals with serious issues about social inequality in the South. I believe, if memory serves, that the Lawyer character was referred to because he was impathetic to the man who was accused falsely of raping a white woman. This was at a time when the two races DID NOT intermix, even socially.

although white, the lawyer sympathized with the black man who raped a white woman hence the white n-word.
