I absolutely loved him! He was so in depth. Tortured past, dark, mysterious, mislead... I always love characters like that. They're so much more human to me. I hope he doesn't die in the third book. I'd cry.

I do. But I haven't even read the book yet. I got my opinion from the movie. He seemed like a good guy though. In the movie, Murtagh, played by Garrett Hedlund, his lines seemed so short. Hopefully, if they're making the second movie, Eldest, there would be more of him.

I like the character of Murtagh in "Eragon." The startling revelation at the end of "Eldest" (I won't say, in case you haven't read it) adds richness to the story and the character. He is close to being the antithesis of Eragon...so, yeah, I like him for what he does for the story.

I think he's a great character because he adds a twist and mystery in Eragon's life.

I think if I met the person, I wouldn't like him. I think right now (in eldest) he's brainwashed, and in book 3 he will join Eragon.
Even if he's good, he's not my kind of person. I like Arya.

He was all right... a bit obvious, but sure, a decent character.
