I just finished a book called "Buffalo Soldier" by Bojalian and it was one of the greatest books I have read all year. I picked up "Midwives" because I wanted to read something different by the same author, but the person who recommended "Buffalo Soldier" said that they had a nauseating response to "Midwives". Does anyone like the book? Should I bother reading it?

It's from a book called "The Poems of Light" and it wasn't written in English, so this is my translation (it sounds a lot better in its original form). Here it is:

My beauty,
your eyes are so black that at night
When I lie with my head in your lap
it seems to me
that your deep eyes are the spring
from which misteriously flows the nigth over the valleys
and over the mountains and over the plains
covering the earth with a sea of darkness.
So black are your eyes,
my light.

I'm writing a fictional story. The lady has gotten too drunk on her semi-first date. She is not a local but he is. He drives her back to his place, takes off her pants and shirt and dresses her in a comfy pair of P.J.'s that his female roomate owns. Then tucks her into his bed and he sleeps in the lazy boy in the living roof. Is this unrealistic or how would she possible handle this when she wakes up. Just need some female point of view.
Thanks

Hi...

I was wondering if anyone has any information on to whom are the elite poets of today's generation and is there a primary scene for poetry right now?

Any up and coming poets? Future prolific geniuses?

Thanks.

Im very into science fiction novels like Dune. I also like Non-religious spiritual readings, such as Ishmael and insightful books about human nature and social behaviours.

I was thinking of The price by Machiavelli, any other suggestions?

The Question is based on a book: The Odessey of Homer

In the first paper you should explore an image, set of images or Homeric simile from the Odyssey to see how it shows the action of the work as a whole, particularly related to Odysseus' homecoming. Examples of this include the olive tree (which we've done a good bit of work with in class), the bow, seating arrangements, birds, food, etc. Do not summarize the action, but rather dwell with one image to see how it illuminates the action.

(what does she mean by "action")

Please HELP!!

Hi,

I would be grateful for any help - I am looking for a book, but i can't remember the author's name or the title of the book. I only read an excerpt of the book in another book so i don't even know that much about it

From what i remember, the heroine and the hero(perhaps called Sam? ) work together in some sort of private detective agency or such. She is a secretary, in a wheelchair and lusts after her boss. Then she falls down some stairs, dies and is reincarnated as the hero's ex-wife.

I would be grateful for any help.

Thanks

Hi..

This may sound rather "obscure", but what paper is typically used to make a chapbook for poetry?

I remember seeing some chapbooks from the 60's and the paper they used and the way they were bound really inspired me.

Thanks.

That you think other people should read? Can you give a BRIEF summary about the book and explain why you liked them? Please do not reveal endings, as I am looking for good books to read and may read the ones on your list! =) Thanks in advance.
