When I was a young girl (mid 80's) I remember my mother reading me this book of short stories. I don't remember too much about it. I remember a story about a boy who gets a lollipop and keeps licking it, the more he licks it the bigger it gets. It finally gets so big they make it into a sign for a store. There was also another one about a mouse that was bad and was sent away. And another about a cat and some kind of candy tree. I remember the cat was creepy looking the way it was drawn. That's about all I remember. I remember the inside cover having a drawing of some woods with and elf hut and some mermaids. If anyone know's the name or author I would really appreciate it.

I'm reading Jasper Fforde 's The Eyre Affair. So far I'm not in love with it -- it seems like a nonwriter wrote it. Fforde has silly names for characters such as Thursday Next and Jack Schitt. I'm still reading -- maybe the juvenile character's names and predictable plot will become enthralling soon.

J.K. said that she doesn't want any one else to carry on her series so that leads me to believe she will kill Harry, she said in an interview 3 to 4 MAIN characters will die.

To answer my own question I would want to visit Diagon Ally. I would LOVE to see Hogsmede and Hogwarts too though! I think Fred and George's shop would be an amazing place to see and shop at!

Have any theory's? I wish there was going to be more than 7 books but JKR has made up her mind about only having 7. I am excited about the book coming out but then that will be the last book..no more Harry Potter! Do you think JKR will kill off Harry? I heard that she's killing 2 main characters...who do you think they will be? Answer with theories and what not! :]

by Ralph Ellison. What would be a good comparison and contrast? What is the author trying to tell about himself?
