Do I actually believe this? Was I expecting quite a few characters to be killed in the final book? The answer is yes to both of them. The Wizarding community is currently in a state of war, and people are going to die.
As much as I don't like it, I think it is totally possible that J.K. Rowling might kill off Harry. If you remember the article, she said that there is a good side to killing off your main character. When she is dead and gone, no one will be able to come back and write Harry because he already died; it would be satisfactory to know that no one will come back and take over you masterpiece.
Here is a list of people besides Harry that I think might perish.
Ron: Besides being Harry's best mate, we haven't really seen him prove himself in times of danger and battle. He showed his strengths back in Book 1 when during the giant chess match during the hunt for the Philosopher's Stone. There is a theory that Ron will sacrifice himself for Harry in the final match against Voldemort.
Pettigrew: Do I have to explain it? Let's see... He betrayed the Potters, he helped Voldemort get his body back, and is an all-around bad guy. I think it's time to go, and that the life-debt that he has to Harry will be involved somehow.
Draco: I think that apart from being "bad", Draco is really a tragic character. His family are Death Eaters. He's got a lot to live up to. I got the kind of feeling that he was forced in the Book 6 to serve Voldemort. All the stress he underwent, the frustration, the anxiety... I mean, the poor boy was misguided. Remember that he is only about 17. People can make horrible mistakes when they are at that age. Unfortunately in Draco's case, it might cost him his life. He's in too deep.
Professor Trelawney: I think there is a possibility of her death in Book 7. She's always predicting how people will die, and seeing strange, dark omens everywhere. I think that is a kind of subtle foreshadowing. She sees death everywhere, why can't it be hers? I just wonder how this would play out, and how important it would be to the actual plot.
Percy: Hmm... Anyone sure which side he is really on?
Who will get a reprieve? I have an inkling that it is one of the Dursleys.... or Snape.

I saw the interview - it's 2 main characters. That makes me sad. I hope Harry isn't one of them...that would just be too tragic & sending the wrong message to kids.
From the interview, it's ambiguous as to whether it's Harry or not. Apparently, she decided the last chapter of Book 7 in 1990...before she even had a publisher for the 1st book. But, she also said, that she changed it a bit, giving 1 of the characters a reprieve. Perhaps this means only 1 of the 3 will survive (Harry, Ron, Hermione).
The potential reason given for killing Harry would be so that no other writers could write the sequel after she dies. (Like The Godfather). But, personally, I don't thing that's a good reason to kill him. She has to think abt her fans first, esp the kids.

Aside from Voldemort, I think Snape, Ron, and Hagrid will die. I know she said two, but she's not going to really tell us exactly how many people are going to die, is she? Yes, she said she had given a reprieve to one character and killed another one instead; however, why can't she change her mind again? After all, she hasn't finished the book yet. I say she will still manage to surprise us.
She better not kill Harry. I will be crushed.
I am both dreading and pining for the day book 7 comes out. Aaarrrggghhh! Too much tension. I love those books. *sigh*

I think Snape is going to die protecting Draco and Voldemort will die in the final battle against Harry. Possibly Harry, but I don't think she'd do that (but I could be wrong).

She actually said only 2 will die. I would have to expect the other one to be Voldermort because DD's gone, SB's gone, and the others like PMcG, Mr.W, Mrs.W, RW and HG aren't as important in the story as Voldermort is.
