well, she didn't say that only two die. She said that two die in the last chapter who she didn't plan on dying. There could be more deaths than just those two. However, based on seeing the interview on Richard and Judy, I don't think that she will kill Harry. She said that she identified with the mindset of killing off your character, but I didn't get the impression that it was her mindset. I think that Hagrid and Wormtail will die. I think that Lupin recieved a reprieve. It might have been in her plan to kill off all the remaining maurauders, but she realized that Lupin can have a future (with Tonks and in other ways, possibly being a father figure to Harry). Others who could die: McGonagal, Snape, various members of the Weasley family (this would kill me), possibly some of the Dursleys, Arabella Figg, Neville? At this point it's all speculation, but boy is it fun to speculate.

I think Snape will get a reprieve he seems the sort that can successfully pull off the double spy routine. As for Harry Potter, yes I was shocked to hear that he would be killed off. But the series was only suppose to have a total of seven books. So I guess she doesn't want someone else writting the series after she has left this planet.
Besides she been quoted in the The Daily Telegraph as saying " A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don't target the extras do they. They go for the main characters..."

Do I actually believe this? Was I expecting quite a few characters to be killed in the final book? The answer is yes to both of them. The Wizarding community is currently in a state of war, and people are going to die.
As much as I don't like it, I think it is totally possible that J.K. Rowling might kill off Harry. If you remember the article, she said that there is a good side to killing off your main character. When she is dead and gone, no one will be able to come back and write Harry because he already died; it would be satisfactory to know that no one will come back and take over you masterpiece.
Here is a list of people besides Harry that I think might perish.
Ron: Besides being Harry's best mate, we haven't really seen him prove himself in times of danger and battle. He showed his strengths back in Book 1 when during the giant chess match during the hunt for the Philosopher's Stone. There is a theory that Ron will sacrifice himself for Harry in the final match against Voldemort.
Pettigrew: Do I have to explain it? Let's see... He betrayed the Potters, he helped Voldemort get his body back, and is an all-around bad guy. I think it's time to go, and that the life-debt that he has to Harry will be involved somehow.
Draco: I think that apart from being "bad", Draco is really a tragic character. His family are Death Eaters. He's got a lot to live up to. I got the kind of feeling that he was forced in the Book 6 to serve Voldemort. All the stress he underwent, the frustration, the anxiety... I mean, the poor boy was misguided. Remember that he is only about 17. People can make horrible mistakes when they are at that age. Unfortunately in Draco's case, it might cost him his life. He's in too deep.
Professor Trelawney: I think there is a possibility of her death in Book 7. She's always predicting how people will die, and seeing strange, dark omens everywhere. I think that is a kind of subtle foreshadowing. She sees death everywhere, why can't it be hers? I just wonder how this would play out, and how important it would be to the actual plot.
Percy: Hmm... Anyone sure which side he is really on?
Who will get a reprieve? I have an inkling that it is one of the Dursleys.... or Snape, if he turns out to be a traitor.

good question when I read that it did sound as if killing Harry is a for certain thing already. SO I think she actually might. I dont know how shes htinking of getting away with it, seeing as to that it started out as a CHILDRENS book and after 7 installments would you really kill a childs favorite book hero ?
But I dont know. Besides Harry I think she will kill more of the teachers. Maybe Snape. also probably ron or hermione. what can I say - she doesnt seem to like those hollywood endings...

I don't know who is going to die. The only people I DON'T want to die are Harry, Ron, Hermoine, Hagrid, and Professor McGonnagal. I hope that Voldemort, Snape, or Draco Malfoy die. I don't like any of them. I think that JKR would get to much hate mail if she killed Harry. Plus then she could never write any more books which would keep the money coming in. Who doesn't like money? :-)

She might, but it is unfair to end the books like that. All of us want him to live and continue going, but she would have to continue the series and she might not want. Why she wouldn't want to is beyond me she may be tired who knows. Voldemort because we as the reader what to see him dead and he is the villain so he has to go down in some flashy awesome way if you get me. For him or Harry it won't just be Kill curse and boom it's going to be a big showoff which will make for great reading and movie scene just like the Draco and Harry scene. So defiantly Harry and/or Voldemort she is really going to surprise us with this one of you get me.

I think this woman is serious. She is going to finish the series.
She said that two are going to die, one of them is possibly Harry. And the other for sure is Lord Voldemort because there is no way that he could survive.
Their death may become after the final battle which will result their death, and Harry's friends will survive to tell what's had happened.
Harry is a mythological hero, and a tragic, so he would die to crown his legendary deed of killing the dark wizard Lord Voldemort who is also a kind of demon, more than a human.
That goes with Rowling's signs, in the series, and in her interviews.

well if you think about it..its either Harry or Voldemort who HAVE to die because thats why it all started...they cant both live. But I dont think JK will kill Harry, i've heard her say she loves his character! and i think Sirius will get the reprieve! Because on her web site there was this hint about the mirror he gave Harry that he broke!

Voldemort and Hagrid while trying to save Harry from death by Voldemorts hand. Within the death of Voldemort, Harry will expire also because they carry equal weight in the spiritual/magical sense. Perfectly balanced energies, good/evil etc. And that will end the realm of magic and bring us to where we as a race stand today. All mugglies.

I don't think that Harry will die. You got to remember that this started out as a children's series. Lord Voldemort will die. I think that Snape will die as well, at the hand of Voldermort, hopefully saving Harry's life, like Fawkes saved Dumbledores earlier.
