I wrote 4 stories that only took me a day to write each of them.I had the stories in my head and I just typed away like a obsess writer. I have a passion for writing and would love to do it as a career, but I don't know any publishers or writers. I want to make them into screenplays but just don't know how to go by doing it.I created a horror, fantasy, science fiction love story and erotica. Is this natural for someone to write such quality stories in such little time. Am I the next Stephan King?I also wrote children stories and currently working on a black barbarian story...I won 1st place and second place in the Jacks essay contest in MN and I got an a in English comp..

And, just to complicate things, are science fiction and fantasy mutually exclusive? Examples are appreciated!

I want to know about your opinions on poetry, novels, plays, etc. Anything by a classical writer, such as: Dickenson, Austen, Shakespeare, Dumas, etc. Don't just give names. Please give your feelings on that person/work and his/her influence or insight. :)

My grandmother is wanting to sell her old stamp collecting albums and there are many stamps (MANY MANY MANY) about 4 or 5 books and a box or two. There are a lot that are worth money, but we don't have the time or effort to go through them. SHe doesn't want to get jipped, and would like a good sum for them. Not all sets are complete but most are close. She hasn't done much with them in years so they are all older stamps, from when she was a little girl, she's 76 now. They are US and foreign stamps.

Few years ago I had a glimpse at fantasy book and it interested me - but, anyhow, it wasn't MY book, so I still don't know who's the author or what's the title.
"It started describing a warrior on the battlefield that died and prepared to leave to the heavens.
But then there came a young woman with strange amulet, that tied the soul of fallen warrior and took it with her.
The woman was said to be looking for something among corpses at the battlefield and the fallen man pitied her for having this amulet".
That's all I can remember from the 2 first pages, but it intrigued me :)
So, anyone knows what book is it?

From hand to hand / about the hall I go,
Much do lords and ladies / love to kiss me;
When I hold myself high / and the whole throng
bows before me / their blessedness
shall flourish skyward / beneath my fostering shade.

The dragon, the troll, and Remora lined up behind him.

So, folks, if you have the chance to live your dreams do you do it?

Do you continue with your 9-5, or do you freaking take the shot for the brass ring?

I am at that point BTW, out of one job I have had for 14 years, moving into another. Programming websites. Just... You are into writing, you have the support. So, what would you do?

If a movie of Catcher in The Rye were to be made in this decade, what would be its theme song? Granted it won't come out for awhile as I read that the author doesn't want a movie to be made, but it could happen when the copyright on the work expires.

So, lets hear it...

("Smoke Gets In Your Eyes" doesn't count--it's in the book)
