I am in the holiday mood for good things so do you think we will ever have world peace? If so how long would it take to go from our world today to one with world peace? Was their ever a period of world peace previously in recorded history?

*Not invented by me.

First was nothing.
A fold in the void separates fullness of nothing, and absence of fullness.
Which are the same in essence but opposed.
Thus the first pair of poles was made.
Fullness of nothing was on top,
Nothingness of something under.
By that occasion the void splits again.
It is at the same time definite
And not definite.
On one side goes definition and on the other, non definition.
This feeds again the opposition between fullness and nothingness, since we now have 4 parts in the void.
And, this indicates an evolution.
A change.
A flow.
The flow itself is an entity feeding the pole of fullness.
A succession of other folds are drawn in the void,
until the potential at the poles is big enough to shape a wave.
Which is not yet matter.
The wave is an entity and again feed the primal pole of fullness.
Many waves cumulate until they build a charge.
And light is made from that charge.
Again two new entities light and charge feed the poles.

I was watching The World According To Garp this morning and there was mention of a society of woman called the emma james society that purposely had their tongues removed to protest the rape and tongue removal of an 11 yr old girl named emma james. Does this society really exist or is it just fiction? I just cant believe that there are doctors that would condone the self mutaltion of these women for this purpose. ty

Counting til next Christmas

It's been two christmases
you never failed to bring
tears not of joy nor peace
but of misery and gloom
shrouded by darkness
forever loomed

i scream for the old times
not too long ago..
before two christmases that was
but no longer...no more..
bitter whiperings on christmas eves
and spiritless prayers for ease

If i count the days for the third of this
Might i find a reason to wait atleast?

Just wondering if anyone would happen to now if street photography is legal in Boston, or the surrounding town? Or if it goes by state..if its legal in Massachusetts?
Case, your not sure, street photography is basically taking candid photos of strangers sometimes with their knowledge, sometimes without.

I am new to this stuff. I really would like to take my own photographs but I dont know where to begin. Like what camera should I buy, whats macro, and iso ? I dont know much of anything but I would really like to learn. Does anyone know of any good books I could read. I know there are classes I can take but I don't want to spend money on classes or anything. I just want a book to learn some good stuff. Any suggestions at all would be appreciated !

Thanks & Happy Holidays

So I just finished the book, and I really didn't understand the ending. As far as moving on without his father with some other family, I understood fine, but I felt like there was a theme I missed like, you'll always find others that have good intentions or that the father and soon were in denial of there being any part of the world that was still the same before the catastrophe. Can someone help me out?

Also, I feel like an idiot for asking, but why was the world in such shambles? What caused the catastrophe? I guess I read sort of fast and didn't catch it.
