How much do paintings or photographs cost at a student art gallery? - an estimate of course I know it varies. I'm interested in buying some pieces but it is closed this week b/c of bad weather so I was hoping to get an idea of the prices before I decide that's the way I want to go.

Many native americans have common last names, but they had their own language. I was wondering how they ended up with those last names if they didnt speak english.

Hey there,

I have a few idea's of this controversial topic, such as:
-Utopia can exist without liberty and freedom.
-Impossible.
-Brainwash to all think alike, even then minds may wonder.
-Questioning of Existence.
-Lack of knowledge.
-Ignorance is bliss? It isn't even bliss because they don't even know.
-Control + Power aspect. In the end, power corrupts.

I am trying to form a thesis statement for an english essay; comparing Brave New World and The Handmaid's Tale.

If anyone has read these books, even if you haven't, I would love to hear your input!

My girlfriend is an amateur artist. She likes to draw stuff, take photos, mess around in Photoshop and stuff like that.

She has an awesome computer, image editing software, and a good camera. I wanted to get her one of those drawing boards for computers, that lets you draw on a digital pad.

I was wondering, are these pretty cool for people who are amateurs at drawing and computers? Or do you need a college education at design to get how they work? Had a buddy who would draw insane looking cartoons with them back in the old days, but he was pretty much a pro at it, with the college degree and everything.

Anyway, any input, opinion etc about these drawing boards would be appreciated! Also, what price class I should expect. I'm more than willing to pay up to $500. :)

I have heard from some strong sources that Spartans were heavy on pederasty, and from similarly strong sources that they are singled out from most other Greek states in the fact that they didn't practice it.
Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spartan_pederasty,
and this site : http://www.arikah.com/encyclopedia/Pederasty_in_ancient_Greece#Sparta
talks of spartan pederasty, saying that Spartans were the first to do nude athletics and that man-boy relationships were a part of the Spartan Agoge.

However, these two sites about women's rights in Ancient Greece note that practice of Pederasty was reported as flat out non-existent in Sparta by Xenophon, and quotes Aristotle in saying that homosexuality was not present.

Is there an explination for this confliction, or is one wrong?
