He introduces Christianity in the island of Cebu.

On March 16, Magellan reached the island of Homonhon in the Philippines, with 150 crew left, and became the first European to reach the Philippines.

Magellan - 1521. He was searching for the spice islands in an effort to establish communication between the Spanish and Asian kingdoms.

He landed on the island of Cebu, claimed it for Spain, and named it Islas de San Lazaro. He was friendly with the local people and converted some of them to Roman Catholicism before being killed by Lapu Lapu during a conflict. Magellan was trying to kill Lapu Lapu, who had resisted conversion and resided on the island of Mactan, for Rajah Humabon, who resided on Cebu, converted to Christianity, and was Lapu Lapu's enemy.

He body was taken back to Spain in a barrel of pickled brine.
