After the appalling carnage and upheavals in Europe during the Napoleonic era many people were doubtless pleased by the years of peace which resulted from the Congress of Vienna. Freedom from the rape, pillage and massacres as armies had ravaged Europe from Spain to Russia and a return to comparative prosperity after the financial burden of the wars. Sure there were some problems and armed conflicts but after the Congress there was 40 years of peace
between the major powers in Europe, which compared with what had gone before was a remarkable achievement.

Not very well. Those decisions didn't suit a lot of people.

Belgium revolted after a few years, since they didn't see why they should be put under the rule of the Netherlands.

They finally got fed up and had the revolutions of 1848
