For people of a certain age (say, over 35), the conservative thinker William F. Buckley springs to mind as a pedant. See the Time magazine cover cartoon of him looking very pedantic.

if you are going to draw one, you could draw an angry teacher yelling at her students, with a stick in one hand pointing at the chalkboard that has the equation '1+1=2', and some question marks on top of the students' heads.
