Can anyone recommend a good book about getting in to the acting industry? It is for a teenaged girl (around 15) who wants to know how to best prepare herself for an acting career.

Only serious answers please, I've already warned my sister it will be difficult. I want to send her something that will actually help her out! Also looking for any other books that might help her with her theory / method - what ever it is actors need to know, I'm even more clueless than her.

Any help appreciated!

My daughter is threw with sports and ready for the lime light. She wants more than anything to be in a movie even if she's just in the background. I know that there is probably alot more to it then signing up, but I don't want to thwart one of her dreams just because it might take a little work. My concern is in getting led astray by people just looking to make some cash (I guess I've seen one too many movies with scandalous 'talent scouts' and 'managers'.... Could someone please point me in a direction that leads to honest people with the childrens best interests in mind?

i have a general question on life. if you have no connections whatsoever but you may have talent, can you make it. i'm from europe and i once sent an email to an american professor asking a very specific question regarding my thesis which sounded original but i wanted to ask him if it made any sense. he said he can't go into it, etc. i thought in the states it's all about the quality not money, etc. so, how is it in reality; can you make it if the other person gains nothing from your profit. thanx

Yes, I am thinking of “paying” for my own publication on poetry due to the simple fact that not many people buy poetry books so it will be very hard to find a Publishing House willing to accept poetry (unless your name’s already out there right?)

I have been all over the Internet and am exhausted from doing research. I would like to find a place where I can design the cover and title and add pictures to the poems. The initials for the title would be S.H.A.D. and so far, this is what I’ve come up with
Shadow’s
Hypnotic
Asylum
Debris

I am just completely stumped as to where to go from here (sigh) although I want a totally mixed up book of poetry, not just your usual “Love” n such, you know what I mean?

Any help is greatly appreciated *^_^*
