This Saturday I have to act out my lines in front of my acting teacher and classmates. I don't want to mess up and it's hard for me to memorize my lines. So, what is the best way to remember them?

This often-parroted saying: "most of the prison population is christian". I find it to be the height of disingenuity. Something they like to hide behind and is extremely equivocal at best.

First of all, even if it is true, isn't it obvious that what really matters is whether they were christians or atheists BEFORE they got to prison? Most of those prisoners were obviously not christians before they went to prison. And who doesn't know that the proclaimatons of prisoners are often suspect?

Secondly, they say it as though it is the ONLY criteria for "immorality". As if there aren't many other ways people are immoral that are not covered by state law. That's what I meant by "using it as cover".

Lastly, if atheists are a minority as they like to say, then does it matter if most of the PP is theist? Wouldn't it be the wrong way to judge which group of people is more likely to be "immoral"? Isn't that a flawed statistical comparison?

I'd like to know what you think about it.

Alright, I am doing an advisory activity for one of my classes. What I want to do is take a small two person dialogue from an old English play (Romeo and Juliet, etc). Then I want groups of two to translate their own part into common day English. After that is done, They will read their parts to each other and see how close their translation skills mirrored an actually conversation.

Its meant to be fun, but also educational. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for plays to use and what scenes..specific dialogue because I have probably not read it. I dont want to be generic and go with Romeo or Hamlet, but something that isn't worldly known. Any ideas are welcome...thanks!

I already have my own acoustic guitar, and I took 4 classes but they cost $80 and know I don't have any more money. Also, another question. When I look up chords at www.ultimate-guitar.com, I try to play a song, and it doesn't sound the same as the normal song. Am I doing something wrong?

right, for my english i need to write a short story/description
it has to build up tension
but then have a major twist at the end.

examples:
1) through out the description it sounds as if theres a huge sunami... but in the end its a sand castle getting washed away

2) through out the description is sounds like the person is a mad man who eats people saying stuff like "i cant wait to eat the leg" and stuff... then it turns out he is eating KFC

can any one think of a good thing like that/ or know of one?
im realy stuck
so it needs to be like a wierd situation that i can build up suspence but then it turns out to be a normal/ every day event

Thanks

You can see it on the Yahoo "most emailed photos" section. The guy paints portraits in the nude using his "male member." I don't know what is worse...That someone would try to earn a living that way or that someone would actually pay to have a portrait done that way. I mean ewwww!

Your thoughts?

Chocolate for breakfast...
I could do this for a year or two.
The fellow next door is making espresso,
And someone downstairs plays a Chopin tune...
I think it's called "Wisteria."

I'm quiet and subdued,
But in a peaceful, pleasant way;
Just one of those mornings when nothing matters.
I think pretty soon--maybe today--
I'll write him a letter. But it can wait.

I smell Lily of the Valley
--that was always Mama's favorite--
Wafting on the gentle morning air...
The espresso man hums "Liebestraume"--I wish I could play it;
One of the years, I'l get there.

May late summer never leave!
I wish time would just stand still:
Nothing would ever matter again...
The flowers could stay on the window sill...
And I wouldn't be coming home--I never will.

Life is okay here, and so am I;
I've gotten used to the taste of coffee.
Don't think I miss the old life, or histeria:
This morning it's a chocolate breakfast, and the
Pianist playing "Wisteria."
