Cool question!!!
Fred and George Weasley (Harry Potter), because they are AMAZING! I adore them. And then George's ear got cut off and Fred died, which sucked.
Scarlett O'Hara (GWTW), because she's so dynamic yet static. I love her strength and growth, and yet lack therof.
Georgia Nicholson (Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging), because she's HILARIOUS, I would SO be her bff. I could totally picture me, her, and Fred and George hanging out.

1. Leslie Burke - The little girl in 'Bridge to Terabithia'
She is so full of life and spirit and good will and rejects organized religion in favor of being at one with nature and imagination.
2. Mona Ramsey in 'Tales of the City'
Once again, unconventionally full of life... this poor character has all of her ideas and beliefs challenged one by one and the craziest situations happen to her... like when she found out that her mother is actually her father (because of a sex change).
3. Shug Avery in 'The Color Purple'
She is the boozey lounge singer who teaches the main character how to love herself in spite of being poor, black and un-cared for. She has zest, wit, style and amazing self esteem.

Javert -- Because he wasn't a hypocrite. He lived his life according to a strict set of rules, the enforcement of which he endlessly persued, and when he found himself to be in violation of those rules, he committed suicide. I don't think he was right, I just think he was interesting.
My other two favorites are characters I've written myself, which is sort of cheating but I wouldn't have written them if I didn't love them.
Lia is a stubborn, spoiled brat, but she means well and she amuses me.
Helena is an evil bint and revels in it, which is refreshing. Most of my villains tend to want to justify their actions, but to her justification is irrelevent.

Dracula, the dwarf from Lord Of The Rings, and Wonder Woman. Dracula because he has beliefs of his own and has interesting motives. the dwarf because he is strong spirited and Celtic like me! Wonder Woman was my idol growing up and had better/cooler wardrobe and powers than Superman.

Julia from 1984--because she was a strong, sassy woman who wasn't completely perfect.
Jo from Little Women--I always wanted to be as outspoken yet well-liked as Jo was. I wanted to be as imaginative as she was.
Hermione from Harry Potter (cliche, I know)--I thought it was so awesome that there was a girl who liked to read as much as I do and it actually paid off!
