The relations in Europe were strained. Still recovering from World War One, Germany had bottled up much frustration and anger over the treaty that forced their country into debt and hardship.

In the winter of 1939, after raising a military that violated the League of Nations, Germany launched a "blitzkrieg fight" (or more commonly known as a lightning strike) against Poland.

Poland fell within seconds of the invasion and Hitler eventually took aim at Czech, Denmark, and the lower European countries. In the meantime, Britain and France failed to do anything. Instead of declaring war in protection of Poland, the countries attempted "to negotiate peace with Germany."

The peace negotiation lasted for so little time before the world would soon explode into one of the most devastating wars. Once France and Britain declared war on the Nazis, Paris fell within days, leaving the British to fight alone.

Other countries that were noted directly or indirectly by history was Finland, Norway, Japan, China, Russia, America, Canada, Mexico, and Egypt. World War 2 had brought grief, sorrow, and distress to 5 of the 7 major continents.
