I have to write about postmodernism and its effect on: government, education, religion, etc. What effect would you write on? and why? I have decided to write about government, since i am taking God and Government lately. I believe that the term government has evolved to a centralized state. Do you have any ideas you'd like to share? Thanks for the input in advance. .

I chase storms and I am looking into getting a camera that can capture them well. I edit my photos on the computer, so I am looking for a digital camera that works well in low-light conditions, I can manually adjust the exposure (f number and shutter speeds), and I could keep the shutter open to wait for lightning strikes. Prices would be helpful but I can look them up myself if needed. Any suggestions?

I think it's wrong what others are doing to this individual. They are ignoring her. In my opinion that is very wrong. But she greatly irritates me too. Will she have no choice, but to eventually change in this environment? I feel embarrassed for her. I want to tell her that it doesn't matter what others think, but sometimes being yourself in this society is not acceptable. I feel that in some ways she is a mirror of myself or maybe she is a mirror of all the negative things that we hate about ourselves. She represents it. What should I do? If I were in her position what would I do? Happiness is fleeting. I wish everyone was happy. I wish people didn't form clicks. ;(

(And a question to ponder or pulverize:)

All the things that you are working for, breaking your back for, the bills you are paying the Mortgages you are carrying for some cookie cutter oversized house that looks and feels the same as any other mass produced oversized house that your kids probably wont want anyways when you bite the dust. Not to mention all the ultimately useless gadgets and trinkets that you collect from year to year that eventually find their way to your garage sale, dumpster or eBay. The cars that are pretty much guaranteed to give you troubles within a few years of purchasing them as opposed to being built from around a more sustainable and durable alternative than the ICE which is becoming a reality now but how long will it take to become mainstream. Why are we consumers willing to put up with mediocrity? Why are we willing to have our minds so easily massaged by marketing execs that could not care less about the real big picture? Why don’t we just identify the important things in life.?

Im reading the book "The Hiding Place" for school. Its about a Dutch woman, Corrie ten Boom, & her family who are arrested and placed in concentration camps for hiding jews in their home.

I had heard about the holocaust, but I never actually studied it until now.

It really scares me. Do you think something like that could ever happen in the US?

I feel so sad when i read it. I can't even explain it. I feel so bad for those poor innocent people. I mean, how could people be so heartless?

Anyways, I just wanted to see what everyone else's views were.

if you can believe sometimes people are born a certain way then is it really their fault for being evil, and then to consider that without evil there is no possibility for good, can't you sympathize for those who commit evil eventhough you know its wrong and they have to be punished?

where do you draw the line? in society we have to be angry at these people but sometimes even the most normal person can be driven to evil, is the real answer to persecute evil to the fullest and hope people keep it bottled up eventhough its a constant in the world?
