I'm fine with being forgotten. There is a certain amount of ego in the desire to be remembered by others. So many take so many steps in the hopes of leaving a legacy. Most people throughout history have been forgotten. The only real way to ensure being remember is to be a sociopath and commit mass murder. Most others fade away in a very short time.

I like this question b/c I argue with people about this alot. I am 22-yrs old and I truly feel like I don't want children...ever. People try to tell me that if I don't have kids I will end up lonely and forgotten. Well, I have faith and I know that God never forgets one of His children. Plus, there is so much more to life than living it so people remember you. Also, people forget that not everyone who remembers you will remember you the way you want them too.

It is best to live life in a way that brings you joy and that puts a smile on God's face because He is the one that will never forget you. Not in an eternity's worth of time. If you live your life this way, people will remember you anyhow...because you will touch their hearts.

If I lived alone, I believe eventually I wouldn't care anymore. I also think it would alter my existence both perceptually and physically but I would hesitate to guess what transformations might take place...
A stab in the dark: I would be the epitomy of all humanity, the ultimate survivor, all my actions, manners and memories would be all that was left of 'us'... Perhaps i would die and not even know it because the essence of my species and I had transformed into another existence... if I eventually inhabit some physical realm and manage to procreate then 'I' would be 'us' and some form of humanity - maybe 'kahunaty' :-) would again flourish...

THE IMPORTANT THINK IS TO FIND SOMEONE TO CARE. WHETHER YOU LIVE ALONE OR WITH YOUR PARENTS NATURE HAS MADE HUMAN NATURE SO US FAMILY TO BE THE FIRST THAT MOVES YOU SO US TO START CONSIDERING THEM AND THE STORY GOES ON. WHO WILL REMEMBER YOU? YOUR FAMILY OBVIOUSLY AND ALL THOSE THAT YOU HAVE MADE AN IMPACT ON THEIR PERSONALITY. AM I CLOSE AS AN ANSWER OR HAD YOU MADE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT QUESTION?

If you lived alone that does not nescessarily mean you were alone always. You could have a job, friends, and family that does not live with you, and just not share a house.
