WHY NOT START? , GET ON THE GRIND NOW IF YOU TAKE IT SERIOUS AND YOU REALY WANNA TAKE IT SOMEWHERE, BUT IF THIS ROLE DONT MEAN MUCH TO YOU THAN I GUESS YOU GOTTA TAKE IT FROM THERE, GOOD LUCK.

Not unless they won't conflict. You must check the dates carefully or the theatres will think you are very unprofessional when/if a conflict arises. Usually you do not begin auditioning until the show you're currently in is close to opening because then you know your schedule will be opening up. Make sure you have all the dates for your current show with you when you look at audition notices and if you attend any auditions so you can write down any conflicts. Failing to write down conflicts could get you dismissed from a show and possibly blackballed from working with that director and at that theatre depending on how bad they felt that mistake was. If the 'new' show doesn't have a full rehearsal and performance schedule available then you'd have to list all the dates and times you are expected to be at your first obligation.

Many actors are in rehearsals for their next show soon after their current one opens. You could be performing Fri-Sun and rehearsing another show Mon - Thurs. if the new show will take you conflicts and all.

Theatre Doc and Marianne got it right, you can audition, but if for any reason they end up conflicting....someone is going to see you as unprofessional, whether it is the play that opens in Oct or the one you auditioned for and possibly got....You can audition for whatever you want, but you are asking for it if they ever conflict(rehearsal times, performance times, emergency dress rehearsals, and sometimes directors call for unscheduled events. They tell you to usually put down your conflicts when you audition( if you tell them all of a sudden you have a conflict that was not put on your paper), there you go.

You should only audition for plays whose rehearsal schedules will not conflict in any way with the first play.

I don't completely understand you but I think you should do one play at a time...are you auditioning for a lead, chorus, dancer, ect.. If a lead ONE play is enough....if chorus/dancer maybe both but make sure your schedule has no more than 3 conflictions...!!!
