We are making weapons of mass destruction which inevitably we will use. Will we annihilate one another and be left with nothing but cockroaches?

Well...it certainly won't be the dolphins....
WMDs...Deforestation...Global warming....Experiments in germ warfare...with the possible exception of the big "Asteroid"...odds are pretty good that we are going to be the ones to erase ourselves!
Maybe once that happens...some other species will evolve and adapt...and once the earth has healed itself...take over and truly make this the paradise that we could have made it....if we weren't so stupid!

Two different things here:
Armagedon is caused by mankind but is actually based on the attitude the world has towards believers and so simply parallels the attitude all nonbelievers had against Christ. Armagedon is headed by the antichrist, but this is all largely spiritual conditions manifesting but not as visual as is commonly believed.
The Apocalypse comes from the many metaphors found in the book of Revelation to describe Judgement against mankind on Judgement day and the immediate days prior to Judgement day. It seems to me from the varous Biblical verses that those days will probably be a very short number of days and the rapture will be sometime in those days or immediately prior to Judgement day or at the beginning of that day.

Doomsayers. People have been predicting the demise of humans for a very long time. It's a great way to manipulate people. Governments and religions have been doing it for ages.
Every war is likely to have notion of "the end is near". That has never been the case. We have lived in the shadow of a nuclear threat for decades, no one is foolish enough to destroy their nation and their people by doing so.

fortunately nuclear weapons are spread out so there is parity and mutually assured destruction that keeps rational people in line, unfortunately the wonderful world of religion and religious fanatics have taken rationality out of the picture, so if that ends up as bad as it could be, then yes we might very well end up holding onto the edge of the cliff so to speak sooner than later unfortunately

probably, what else would cause it. I don't see any other beings on this planet making weapons to kill large amounts of other beings, if it happens yep it will be our fault
