That's a great question.
I felt this way only about a few people.
I think it's being around a person for too long and seeing all of their flaws up close. Maybe it's human nature. It's up to us to figure out why sometimes we do lose the enthusiasm of a conversation with people.
Another thing could be our moods.
OR association.
OR maybe that person may have let you down.
OR...maybe the spark *snap* ....is gone.
It's a mystery.

Your screen name suggests a lot. Thinking about past traumas will bring about certain realities such as the desire to pull away from others and to go inside our minds.
You may have been traumatized, but I view you, since you are here with us as a survivor. Like others, you survived whatever personal misfortune that was inflicted on you.
Going "into our heads" can be a very dangerous activity. The act of "introspection" is also connect to many states such as depression and anxiety as well as social isolation.

For me, I realize that it is my responsibility how people receive the words I'm conveying to them and if I feel they are not receiving my words the way I mean them, then I lose interest in continuing the conversation. If a person is boring me with their conversation, or they are shallow I lose interest. For me I find few people I can be enthusiastic with in conversation. I don't like being drained of my energy by people that are negative either.

Because we've been drained and need to revitalized ourselves from within. When we are empty we have nothing to contribute. Sometimes it takes awhile to regain the enthusiasm, it will return when you are ready. We are like wells sometimes they run dry and must be replenished, so ourselves become it is normal.

Sometimes it is good just to keep quiet, though that is hard for me to do when there are other people around. They usually say something to me and get me going anyway. My friends do, anyway.

it's because you do not share common interests and values simmilar to them that's why people sometimes tend to lose the enthusiam. its also because you are an introvert (a listener instead of the talker)

Sometimes it seems pointless to try to convey your ideas to people who do not understand or care about your point of view.
