The second hand was dying. . .
Or so I thought to be.
The world was on a stand-still,
Nightmares won't set me free

Light crept along the border
And just within times reach-
My hand cast out few hopes
To an ever-ebbing beach

Yet patience is a virtue
Time has yet to learn.
Pulling tricks upon your mind
Find quite hard to discern

So quietly, just wait for it
And foretell this if you must,
But unattained triumph
Is a thing you shouldn't trust

For now with every thought
And each new foggy dream. . .
You might discover, that
Hope is not what it may seem.

any ideas for a title/what do you think??? =]thanks.

I am looking for a good practice shoe for ballroom and social dances. I would prefer something with a lower heel and profile (I own some bloch dance sneakers which I find to be too bulky), but am overwhelmed by the available options. I really need something with a cushioned insole because I get a lot of pain beneath the ball of the foot. I have been looking online at Elegance's Shazdeh practice shoe, because it claims to have cushioning and a flexible sole while retaining some support. Supadance offers something that looks sort of similar - the 8200 - and I notice they offer special insoles. Does anyone know anything about these companies? Sansha's salsettes also look good, as do some of the tango-specific dance sneakers, but I've never seen either of these types of shoes in person either. Any opinions or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have worked all of my life and have also loved to read. I'm in my mid forties and I'll be able to retire in a few years. I really want to be a writer because I belives I have several stories inside me. Most authors I read about are young (20s and 30s) and have achieved prominence in their fields. They still have many years ahead ofr them to create more fine work. I'm getting older and feel if I start it'll take me
awhile to learn stuff and to get published. People tell me this is a pipe dream and say it'll take me a years to perfect my writing. Is there such a thing as TOO OLD to begin a career as a fiction writer? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I was chatting with a online friend one night and sharing memories....he shared one of fireflies with me....I myself have never in all my life seen a firefly. After talking some more ...i asked hime ......"Nwo...sounds like a poem in there somewhere...mind if i try to write one?"
...he said "Sure go for it!
This is what i wrote .......

Fireflies
On a cold Winter Night....
A man remembers a time of a boy in the warmth of summer
of catching fireflies to make a special light
Dancing in the forest to a silent ceremony in the night
the young boys' heart sings in the memory of time.

The boy is all grown and now in the time of a Man
He sees their flight leading toward extinction
A fear that time will show a fading light in the darkness
Yet the boy that still exists in the heart, he sings
Sings a hearts' song of time in the memory

A warming Heart Song
nothing can take that away...not even time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Peace and Love to all
Is the statement he said a lie, since he is a liar?
The feminist philosophy: "...much of feminist theory also focuses on analyzing gender inequalities and the promotion of women's rights, interests, and issues. Themes explored in feminism include discrimination, stereotyping, objectification (especially sexual objectification), oppression, and patriarchy."
So it promotes females to have equal rights as the males; free to do less/as much/more than their male equibalvents. They're also against objectifying women. But what if a female chooses to become.. say a pole dancer on her own will (http://www.wikiality.com/Johnna_Mink), she's just excerising her freedom to do whatever she wises, but she is objectifying herself at the same time. So isn't there a "loop-hole" in the feminist philosophy?
Don't get my wrong, I support the philosophy but this is the part I don't quite fully grasp.
i'm writing a novel & i was curious wat the general publis thought of the idea 4 the book. CRITISMS ENCOURAGED!
the main characters r: Princess Carla & Counselor Yazmin
Carla is 13 & she has 2 marry & b queen by her 15th b-day, her parents r dead & Yazmin is in charge of the country. the country is at war & has been since Carla's g-pa was on the throne. Yazmin is a sorceress & so is her ex-husband Daldrin who is ruling the country that they r war w/.
Lord Frederick (Yazmin doesn't like him) is courting Carla & he is next in line 4 the throne. after he gains her trust, he betrays her & murders her in the middle of the woods somewhere.
In the second book Sandrielene ( a healer) has a son, Zach, who saves Carla & his mom heals her. She ends up fallin 4 him & marrying him.
Frederick kills Daldrin in a final showdown & Yazmin banishes him 4 murder & every1 lives happily ever after.
PS. I'm also lookin 4 a title name 4 the book, suggetions?
this one is REALLY violent in nature...
"DEADLY THOUGHTS"
I will kill you when you sleep
promise it'll be that last thing you see.
my blade
cutting down
into your face.
Slice your throat ear to ear
scream while you choke is what i'll hear.
this knife
sliding 'cross your neck
ending your life.
Stabbing in & out of your body
multiple wounds with my butterfly
killing you harshly
so with every victim i
temporally escape this reality!
Is it a lack of credibility, insecurity, or just ego--which drives some writers to believe that the only way we can be taken seriously enough with their writing--we all have to traditionally publish our works?
