A man says he is a compulsive liar.
Is the statement he said a lie, since he is a liar?
But if it was a lie, that means...

Since the compulsive liar always lies, everything he says must be a lie even when he tells others that he is a liar?

1. If the statement was true then the person cannot be a compulsive liar since he was telling the truth. Truth = he is a compulsive liar

2. If the statement was a lie then he still cannot be a compulsive liar since he was lying about the fact that he is a compulsive liar (which he is not). So he is just an "ordinary" person telling a lie. Telling a lie in this case is just an "exception".

A true compulsive liar would never have the honesty to reveal his/her true identity.

Hope i have answered your question. :-)

Additional details:

A compulsive liar "must" always lie thats why he is called a "compulsive liar" and not just a liar.

If a man says he is a compulsive liar, & if the statement he said is a lie, then that would mean he is lying about being a liar, which means he is still a liar. Or he may really be a compulsive liar who is just owning up to it. Just because he is a compulsive liar does not mean he lies about everything, just that no one will believe any thing he says.

He could be lieing. He might just be a liar, but not compulsive. Hence not having to lie all the time but he can some of the time (like now).
